General conditions

We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason at any time. You understand that your content (not including credit card information) may be transferred unencrypted over various networks. Credit card information is always encrypted during network transfers.

Analog service and liability

Note: This section is specific to film processing, scanning and other services.

• Standard of Care: SlowFilmStudio is dedicated to providing premium film processing and drum-scanning services. We exercise extreme care and professional diligence when handling all photographic materials submitted to us. However, the nature of analog photography involves inherent risks beyond our total control.
• Limitation of Liability (Processing and handling): By submitting film to SlowFilmStudio, you agree that if your film is lost, damaged, or destroyed for any reason—including equipment malfunction, human error, or negligence—our liability is strictly limited to the replacement of the film stock of a similar type.
• Drum-Scanning Service Liability: Submitting negatives, transparencies, or prints for drum-scanning constitutes an agreement that any damage or loss caused by SlowFilmStudio will entitle the customer only to a credit for an equivalent amount of scanning services. By submitting your materials, you declare the value to be no more than the replacement cost of the raw materials and the services provided.
• Exclusion of Damages: SlowFilmStudio is not liable for sentimental value, lost opportunities, or any incidental or consequential damages resulting from the loss or damage of photographic materials. Apart from the replacements mentioned above, our services are provided without any other warranty or liability, expressed or implied.

Accuracy and changes

• Information Accuracy: We are not responsible if information made available on this site is not accurate, complete, or current. Any reliance on the material on this site is at your own risk.
• Price Changes: Our products and services' prices are subject to change without notice.
• Service Discontinuance: We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the Service at any time without notice.

Products or services

Certain products or services (such as limited-edition films or specific services) may be available exclusively online. These products may have limited quantities and are eligible for return or exchange only under our Return Policy. We do not warrant that the quality of any products or services will meet your individual expectations.

Billing

We reserve the right to refuse any order you place with us. We may, in our sole discretion, limit or cancel quantities purchased per person or per order. You agree to provide current, complete, and accurate purchase and account information for all transactions.

We may provide you with access to third-party tools or links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for examining the content or accuracy of these third-party materials and shall have no liability for any transactions made in connection with them.

Submissions

If you send us creative ideas, suggestions, or photos (collectively, "comments"), you agree that we may, at any time, without restriction, edit, copy, and use them in any medium (such as social media, website etc). We are under no obligation to maintain comments in confidence or pay compensation for them.

Prohibited uses

In addition to other prohibitions, you are prohibited from using the site or its content:

(a) for any unlawful purpose;

(b) to infringe upon or violate our intellectual property rights;

(c) to upload or transmit viruses or any other type of malicious code;

(d) to scrape or collect the personal information of others.

Disclaimer or warranties and limitations of liability

We do not guarantee that your use of our service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free. You expressly agree that your use of, or inability to use, the service is at your sole risk. In no case shall SlowFilmStudio, our directors or employees be liable for any injury, loss, claim, or any direct/indirect damages of any kind, including lost profits or lost data, arising from your use of the service.

You agree to indemnify and hold SlowFilmStudio harmless from any claim or demand, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, made by any third party due to or arising out of your breach of these Terms of Service or your violation of any law.

These Terms of Service and any separate agreements under which we provide you with Services shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of South Africa.
